Bouillon is a municipality of Belgium. It lies in the country's Walloon Region and Luxembourg Province. The town sits in a sharp bend of the river Semois whose total length is 210 km. The surrounding area is largely forested. The Bouillon Castle still sits above the town centre once owned by the notorious Duke Godfrey of Bouillon, leader of the first crusade - it is a popular tourist attraction.

You can get there by car by takin the E411 for Brussels-Namur-Luxembourg and change for the N89 at exit 25, about halfway between Namur and Luxembourg. Bouillon sits just at the French border, a few kilometres from the French town of Sedan. By rail, the nearest train station is Libramont on the Brussels-Namur-Luxembourg line. From there, take bus No 8 to Bouillon which takes about 45 minutes. There are 6 to 8 buses a day.

Known as the “Pearl of the Semois valley” Bouillon is the most exceptional tourist centre of the Semois valley. The fortified medieval castle, well preserved, stands high over the town and there are miles of marked trails and paths which allow you to discover the valley and its steep slopes. Surrounded by a loop of the Semois river deep in an Ardennes forest, Bouillon is dominated by the Castle of Godefroid.

The city is today one of the top destinations for holidays in Wallonia. Its numerous visitors testify to the reputation of the quality of its hotels and campsites - the restaurants are renowned for their wide range of cuisine and local specialties of the Ardennes like smoked ham, snails, trout and game. Its has many marked trails in the woods for strollers and bikers and there are animal parks, tourist trains, fishing, hunting and various sports and cultural activities that make your stay in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes a pleasant memory for all those that visit.
