Cato van Ee was born 1990 in Bentveld, The Netherlands. She was discovered in 2004 after being a finalist in the Dutch Elite Model Look contest.

She spent most of her life in Bentveld, a small coastal town in Northern Holland. As a young girl, she wanted to move to Hollywood and become an actress, but her hairdresser in Amsterdam insisted that she consider a career in modeling. Cato was hesitant at first but quickly fell in love with fashion. She was a finalist in the 2004 Elite Model Look contest of the Netherlands.
