Ellen ten Damme was born on October 7th, 1967 in Warnsveld, Netherlands. She is a Dutch actress and singer raised in the village of Roden in the Netherlands.
She made her film debut in 1991 with The Tears of Maria Machita directed by Paul Ruven. She also starred in the lawyer drama Called to the Bar. Further movies roles included All Rigid and No Trains No Plains.
She is an artist par excellence, whom wholeheartedly lives for the stage, its art and its audience. And only the name of artist does her justice, because any other characterization would be deficient. She is a singer, actress, acrobat, dancer, musician, writer and composer, and she is all of these at once. Her astonishing versatility stems from the fact that she believes so much in her art and does so with such vital energy that she herself would never allow taking it easy. She always looks for the boundaries of different disciplines and of her own abilities. She is always looking for an artistic adventure and that is what characterizes the true artist.
She released her first album Save Me in 2001, although she contributed to movie soundtracks before this, such as Casper: A Spirited Beginning and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie.
Dutch avantgarde filmmaker Cyrus Frisch directed her music video Stay.
