Tori Praver grew up in Maui, Hawaii. Then her all-American good looks landed her on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine’s March and September 2007 fashion issues. Now she has also joined the ranks last year of the numerous, world-famous models to grace the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Edition.
She was discovered at the age of 12 by a local Hawaiian modeling agency while shopping with her mother. At first, she wasn’t interested in modeling and after a two-week testrun in New York City at age 13, she decided she’d rather be surfing. It wasn’t until four years later that Tori decided she was ready to take on the fashion world. At 17 years old, she became the face of GUESS? shooting four campaigns with Creative Director, Paul Marciano. Since then her career has taken off, sending her jet setting around the world. Praver currently splits her time between California’s Venice Beach and Manhattan’s West Village, but will always call Maui home.
Tori Praver is an American model perhaps best known for her appearances in the 2007 and 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She has also done work for Guess?, Yamamay, and Liu-Jo. Tori was discovered by Cindy Kauanui of Jet Set Models after appearing in Outside magazine. She was on the cover of Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Cover magazines. In addition to working with world class photographers on her Sports Illustrated shoots, she was the object/subject of several Joanne Gair body painting works in these editions.
